the 4:8 Principle

Need a great book to read? I HIGHLY recommend this book. It's called The 4:8 Principle by Tommy Newberry and we're reading it together as a staff at work. Life-changing stuff!!!

To sum up the book:
The book teaches you how to discipline your mind and think on things from above.
It's based on Philippians 4:8 which says, "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."

I really could add 20 more of my favorite quotes from the book...it's full of highlighted and underlined pages. But it's a great book that really changes your outlook and helps you focus on the joy in your life!

things your mom didn't tell you about pregnancy...

So if you would have asked me a month ago about my pregnancy with Molly, I would have told you that it was great and easy! It's amazing how quickly you forget about all the pregnancy symptoms! So I've decided to tell all about the ones that have already come back:

1. sleep...or lack there of!
Not only do I wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, sometimes I just wake up...wide awake. I just lay there until I eventually fall back asleep, which makes me sleep really hard, so I am grumpy the next morning!

2. heartburn!
It doesn't matter what I eat, my chest soon starts burning. Luckily I can take meds for it! But it is crazy when I eat a sandwich and 5 mins later, I reach for the tums!

3. I just want to poop!
Constipation...enough said! I'd never been constipated before in my life until I was pregnant with Molly.

4. did I just pee?
Yep, it happens alot when you're pregnant! When you cough, sneeze, or sometimes you have a sudden urge and feel the gush before you make it to the bathroom.

5. gas mask!
I do feel bad for Jonathon sometimes...I have the WORST gas of my life! Can't help it! :)

That's all for now. There are plenty more symptoms but these are the only ones that come to mind at the moment. Going to the doctor in 2 weeks! Can't wait to see little jellybean!

oh my dear elm street bakery

Last Thursday Jonathon and I took a random road trip to El Dorado, Arkansas. We've never been and it's only about 30 minutes from our house. We went downtown and ate at a cute little bistro called the Black Cat Cafe (Which had very good food). We also did a little bit of shopping. But best of all, we stopped at the Elm Street Bakery for some afternoon coffee. Well because of the little jellybean inside my tummy, the smell of coffee makes me nauseous so I opted for some hot chocolate. And might I add that it was the BEST hot chocolate I've ever tasted! It came in a huge mug and had whipped cream on top. It was also sprinkled with a bit of cinnamon. Divine! Now I crave this hot chocolate all day long. And the home-made swiss-miss just doesn't compare! Maybe another quick trip to El Dorado is necessary!

ready to tell the world!!!


Well it is official! We are bringing another little Murphy into the world! And I am SOO excited!!!! Baby #2 (Who I have been referring to as Rufus) should be here mid September. And baby will be exactly 2 years and a month younger than Molly! Couldn't be more perfect!

We've told all of our immediate family and some friends. Tomorrow I'm going to tell some work friends.  Not quite ready to make it facebook official...maybe in another few weeks.

It's kinda scary how easily we made a baby this time! Jonathon and I decided to start "trying" so I stopped taking my birth control in December. And a week later, we made a baby! I never expected to get pregnant this fast!

But I knew that I was pregnant! It was WAY to early to take a pregnancy test, but I started having pregnancy symptoms. I kept waking up in the middle of the night, I had really bad heartburn, and I had to go to the bathroom all the time! So I printed off a coupon and went and bought a pregnancy test (all they had was a 3 pack). And I counted out 6 days before my missed period, which was what the test said to do. And I waited until that day. It was a Thursday that I was off of work, so I woke up bright and early and took the test...it was negative! I was really sad...but I still felt like I was pregnant. So the next morning, I took another test...negative again! I started to get kinda depressed about it.

Well a few days later, we woke up to a Snowy Sunday. Most of the churches in town were closed, but we still had services. So we went to church. My tummy started growling during the service and I had just eaten, so I knew something was up. When we got home from church, I went to the bathroom and took the last test in the box....and almost immediately the test was positive!!! I was stoked! I ran to tell Jonathon but he was outside. So I told Molly. But when I told Jonathon, he was SOO Excited!

So long story short...we're pregnant again and couldn't be happier!!!

quick movie review!

I've been watching quite a few movies this week. Some have been great...and some have been not so great! Here are my thoughts:

Twilight: Movies 1-3
Good movies! Not very true to vampire characteristics (I took a Brit Lit class at Tech and we studied vampires in great detail). But for a teenage romance drama, they are pretty good!

Dinner For Schmucks
It's playing on my tv as we speak, and I've tuned out. I thought it would be funny...wrong! I really like Steve Carrell but he let me down in this movie. One of those movies where everything that could possibly go wrong goes wrong.

p.s. I am a fan of Red Box! Love it!

So we finally put up the Christmas decor today which led us to a little bit of spring cleaning. I came upon my wedding dress and of course I had to put it on and prance around the house! It brought back so many amazing memories of one of the best days of my life!!!

bring it on 2011!

I have 2 goals for 2011:

1. fit into my favorite jeans from freshman year in college. They are sitting at the top of my closet and yes one day my booty will fit into them again! Today is day 1of my couch to 5K program. And March 19 I'm doing a 5K in Longview, TX with Jonathon, his sister, and her husband. Pretty excited!

2. Bring another little Murphy into the world! Been working on that the past few weeks!  : )
