things you don't say to a pregnant woman...

Last time I was pregnant, I didn't experience this as much. But now that I'm pregnant again, I've come into contact with a few people that have no filters. I know they're not being mean or rude, they just don't think before they say these things. Here are the top few things that I've heard:

1. "Wow, are you sure you're not having twins." (Coworker)
2. "Man, you sure look like you're about to pop." (Different Coworker)
3. "Aren't you so cute and lumpy." (An old lady who teaches one of our children's Sunday School classes)
4."Well you sure have blossomed." (Church member)
5. *This is probably my favorite. I was talking to that same Sunday School teacher about moving into our new house and she said: "Keri, please don't make Jonathon carry you over the threshold. "

Fun times! It really didn't make me mad, I just laughed. Bc really, what can you say to them. But if you ever have the urge to say one of these things to a pregnant woman, please don't. :)

Ima Blog Slacker!

I don't know WHERE July went! But it's been a ridiculously crazy month for the Murphy's! So here are the updates:

We are officially in our new house! And no, it's not the house that I posted a picture of in the previous post. Loooong story short: The other house had some serious foundation problems and a long list of other big issues. So we found another house. Here it is:

We absolutely LOVE our new house. It's a lot bigger than our last house, which is good since we're about to have a new little Murphy running around!

We moved in on a Thursday, which went very smoothly thanks to our awesome friends and family! But moving when you're 30 weeks pregnant is not so much fun. It's just frustrating bc you can't move things where you want them to go.

3 days after we moved in, I left for camp for a week. Also an interesting thing to do when you're 30 weeks pregnant! We took 15 kids from our church to Children's camp. It was AWESOME!!! One of our kids asked Jesus into his heart, which made the week even more awesome! I don't miss sleeping in a dorm though!

SOOO now that July is almost over, the countdown begins. I am officially 32 weeks pregnant. Molly came a little bit early (at 38 weeks) so I'm going to make sure I'm ready for Fletcher to come. If he decides to come when his sister did, that is in 6 short weeks!!! Whew! Hopefully August will be nice and relaxing....just me getting ready for Fletcher to come in September. I found the cutest little boy bedding at Target (online) and it should be delivered today....so hopefully his nursery will be ready soon!

That's all for now.

pregnant women should not buy/sell houses!

Talk about STRESS!!!

So we put in a offer on a GREAT house and they accepted! Whoo Hoo! We are having the inspection next week and then it's mostly just waiting on the bank to finalize everything. Here's a pic:

It's going to be a great hosues for us! It's in a really good neighborhood. It has 4 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. Ready to move in!

So that process is going great but the sale of our house is getting kind of stressful. We signed the contract on Friday. And yesterday (Wednesday) they did their home inspection. Now technically we had a 5 day inspection period (which is what they wanted) and they did not give us their written requests on the house by the 5th day which was yesterday. So legally we don't have to fix any of their requests. But this morning the agent emailed with some concerns (not an official request). But the problem with all of the concerns is that most of them were concerns when the buyers owned the house the 1st time. The buyers lived in our house about 5 years ago and want to buy it back. One of the concerns is the roof. They think that the shingles need to come down about 2 more feet to cover the siding. They want us to replace the entire roof to fix it. Well they were the ones that put the new roof on 5 years ago, seems like they would have extended the shingles then.

And they did the inspection yesterday afternoon. Jonathon was off of work so he checked everything out before he left the house. Well when I got home from work last night, the air conditioning wasn't working. It was working when Jonathon left (about 15 minuted before the inspector came). And it is still currently not working. And the fun part is that nobody will take resposibility for it. The realtor won't help, the inspector doesn't seem to know what to do. So we slept in a warm house last night and probably will again tonight until we get it figured out.

And I thought moving day would be the most stressful part!

selling the house!!!

So it is official! We are under contract and are selling our house. Our closing date is June 28th, just 10 days after VBS and the weekend of the Peach Festival.

So now the fun begins: time to find a new house. We've probably looked at 10+ houses in the past week and a half and are going to see a few more tomorrow. We found one that we really like online and are going to see it tomorrow. It's in a great neighborhood and it has 4 bedrooms which is perfect for our growing family. So hopefully we'll find The One soon so we won't be homeless in a month!

In other news: Molly has been regularly tee teeing in her big girl potty! I am so proud of her! My baby girl is growing up so fast. And she has also officially started the Terrible Two's! Say a prayer for us because she's becoming very independent and hard-headed (pretty sure she got that from her Daddy)!

All is well with baby #2! He is definitely going to be a soccer player.

Random Wednesday!

Today started out pretty normal. I woke up WAY early bc I couldn't sleep, which is very typical these days. I feel like I have a lot more energy lately, I just need to channel that energy into something productive.

So I was sitting at work, sending out some postcards when Jonathon called me. Nothing too strange bc it was almost lunch time and he usually calls to find out what I'm craving for lunch. He tells me that he has some crazy news. I automatically assume that it's work related but it's totally not.

He tells me that the realtor that sold us our house called him this morning and an old owner would like to buy our house. She didn't give any $$ numbers but she did say that we would be making a profit. So then my brain went into overdrive! We have been thinking about moving a LOT lately!

When we bought our house, we got the IRS First Time Buyers Tax Credit, which was $8,000. That definitely came in handy when buying furniture and appliances for the house. But there was a condition with the credit: you must live in the house for 3 years or you have to pay it all back. So that was the stinker! We have now lived in our house for 2 years and only have a year left, so we just figured that we would tough it out. But now, it might just be possible to find a bigger better house in Ruston!

We do LOVE our house but it has 1 downfall: it's in Dubach, which is about a 15 minute drive to Ruston. It's not horrible but it does get very OLD!!! I can't just run home and grab something and I can't go home for lunch. And not to mention that I fill up on gas about every 5-6 days.

So random Wednesday it is! There might be a possible move in our future! SOO ready!!!
