dangerous thinking!

I think I have the fever...baby fever that is!

It seems like everybody I know is working on a little one! I've always wanted my kids to be close in age...like 2 years apart. And this week...exactly 2 years ago is when we "made" Molly.

So we're not "trying" at the moment...but I don't think it will be too much longer! :)

Part time mom

One of the best things about my new job is that I work part-time. Really it's a full time job, but I don't have to be in the office quite as much. I'm off Mondays and Fridays, which is VERY nice! There are 2 amazing benefits of the new job:

1. More time with my Molly! We have days where we just play all day! Sometimes we go to the park and sometimes we run errands around town. But I absolutely LOVE these days!

2. New and fun tv shows! I've been working full time since the day I graduated from Tech, and now I get to watch fun shows on tv. In the mornings I like to watch A Baby Story and I think I cry every episode! It makes me want to have another baby SOO bad. But babies are expensive! I know we'll probably think about having another one in the next year. But I also like to watch the Tyra show, Dr. Oz, and The Doctors. All very interesting shows!

I'm going to attempt to blog on the days that I'm off of work. We shall see how this goes!

crazy day!

Today started out really good. I went to work then to a morning precepts bible study. We took a lil break and I checked my phone. I had 3 missed calls from the daycare and a voicemail asking me to call them asap.

Apparently Molly's class was outside playing and Molly decided to pick some wild mushrooms and eat them. Her teachers got most of it out of her mouth but they werent sure if she swallowed any.

Called the doctor, they told us to give her some epikak to make her throw up and to watch for crazy symptoms. And there are NO stores in ruston that sell epikak...so we gave her a bunch of juice. No crazy symptoms so we shall see!

bad blogger, new job

I have not been very good at remembering to blog! But a LOT has changed since my last post.

I now have a new career. I went from accounts payable at the church to the children's minister. It was a looong process but I absolutely LOVE my new job! We have amazing kids and families at our church and I get to love on them alot! Here's how it all went down:

About a year ago, we had some changes in our church. Our children's minister became the preschool minister, which left the children's position open. There was a church business meeting to let everybody know about the changes, and as I sat through the meeting I felt a little tug at my heart. I had never even thought about childrens ministry as a career. But I just went on with my life and didn't think about it again for a few months.

We had an interim children's minister who was great! She was kind and always on top of her ministry. I got to work alongside her on Wednesday nights with the kids. She was content with only being the interim and didn't want the position full time. But she mentioned several times that I would be great at the position. So I began praying about it seriously. I didn't tell anyone bc I really wasn't sure if I was the right fit for the job. After about a week of praying, I told Jonathon about it and he was SOO excited...which was very encouraging! So we both prayed about it for a few more weeks. I then went to our education minister about it. We had a conversation about it, but I don't think he knew that I was serious about it. So I kept praying. He didn't really mention it again, so I thought that this was God telling me no. And I was ok with that.

A few months later, I saw a position online for a human resourse assistant at the hospital. It looked very cool and I was very qualified for the job. I interviewed for the position and it went very well! The next day, I talked about it with a coworker and friend. It really bothered him that I was possibly leaving, so the next day we talked about it again. He asked me if I had ever thought about the children's position. I told him that I had prayed about it, but wasn't sure if it was where God was leading me. He asked if he could give my name to the search committee.

I was torn! Bc the hospital job was a great long-term career with great benefits, but my heart was telling me to pursue the children's ministry job. I woke up in the middle of the night one night and had the strongest tug on my heart, I really believe that it was God talking to me. And right then, I knew which direction I was suppose to head in. So the next morning, I emailed the human resourse lady who had interviewed me and asked her to take my name out of consideration bc I really needed to pursue another direction. One of the craziest and hardest leaps of faith I've ever had to take!!! And this was all before I even met with the search committee!

But God was faithful and everything fell into place! I met with the committee several times and in the end they unanimously decided that I was the right person for the job. And on September 19th the church voted unanimously for me to be the children's minister!

It's been such an incredible journey for me, but I have such a great husband and family that supported and encouraged me along the way. I love my new job! It is a part-time position so that means I get more time with my Molly Belle! I could not have imagined that this is where God would lead me, but it is SUCH a cool job!

So long story short, God is faithful especially when we step out in faith!

New Mommy

Ok so I officially have a new mommy pet peeve:

We were at an Easter Egg hunt the other day and Jonathon's dad thought it was so cute to stick his finger in Molly's mouth. EWWW!!! That is GROSS and NASTY!!! I don't even stick my fingers in her mouth...unless she was choking or something...but I would not stick my finger in someone else's baby's mouth!!!

Ok just wanted to say that.

Easter Fun!!!

We had the BEST Easter!

Saturday we had an Easter Egg Hunt at Jonathon's parents house. And since Molly can't walk yet-Me, Jonathon, and his siblings got to hunt the eggs. They have a HUGE backyard with a pond and Jonathon's Dad decided to REALLY hide the eggs. Good times!!! And the Easter Bunny came Sunday morning and brought Molly all kinds of goodies.

Molly is 7 1/2 months and is getting to be more fun every day! She loves to roll everywhere. She's learning to crawl. Right now she gets up on her knees and pulls her body with her arms. We went to a friend's house last week and as I was sitting on the floor with Molly, she decided to climb up and get in her carseat. She's growing up WAY too fast!!!

I think one of the most challenging things for me is how her eating habbits change all the time. It seems like she's always hungry. We've started feeding her baby food. She loves all her vegetables and applesauce. We tried bananas and she liked them, but shortly thereafter we had squirty banana poop. So we might try those again a little later.

This weekend is going to be landscape weekend. We really havent done anything to the outside of our house since we moved in (almost a year ago). So I've been watching a lot of HGTV and driving around neighborhoods to get ideas. I'll try to take pics of the before and after.

That's about it for now! :)

March

Wow It's been WAY too long since I've blogged. Not much has changed. Little Molly is growing soooo fast!!! She rolls ALL over the floor...usually from one end of the room to the other. And she's starting to scoot...won't be long until she's crawling! Yesterday was such a GORGEOUS day outside so we took Molly strolling around Dubach and took some realy cute pics.

This one's my favorite:
I plan on taking lots more pics soon, especially since the weather's so nice!
