Scariest night of my life

So I'm finally able to put into words what happened last Wednesday night. Here goes:

Jonathon went to bed a lil early while I was finishing feeding Molly. She was almost asleep when I heard the most horrific sound coming from our bedroom. My heart stopped! I sat Molly down in her bouncy seat and ran into the room. Jonathon was on the bed convulsing and having a seizure. I ran to him and tried to see if he was ok. He was breathing but not responsive. He's type 1 diabetic (he takes shots everyday to keep his glucose levels stable) so I knew that his sugar was too low. He has a special shot to use if he's passed out or having seizures but I couldn't find it. So I ran into the kitchen to grab a coke to try and bring up his sugar. When I got back into the room, Jonathon had fallen off the bed and gashed his forehead. He was still convulsing on the floor. Normally you're not supposed to give someone having seizures food or drink, but I knew he needed sugar. So I just started pouring coke down his throat. His eyes were rolled back into his head and he wasn't responding to anything I said to him. I ran and grabbed my phone to call 911. The dispatcher asked me what his glucose level was and I tried to check it but his level was too low to register. He told me the ambulance was on the way. I just kept trying to get Jonathon to drink Coke. He eventually stopped convulsing but was still pretty out of it. He would nod that he knew who I was, but he still couldn't talk or answer any other questions.

I called our friend who lives 2 houses down. He came over and kept me sane until the ambulance got there. Eventually the ambulance came and the guys checked out Jonathon. They decided that he didn't need stitches on his head. They also wanted to sit with him for a little while to make sure he was getting better. Jonathon gradually starting knowing who we were and where he was. He was still loopy. The paramedics said he was gonna be ok and left.

Jonathon didn't remember anything that happened. He was just really sleepy. So he slept in my lap and I stayed up all night and watched him sleep.

I'm still a lil freaked out and I get jumpy when I hear loud or random noises. But I'm glad he's ok. We went to his endocrinologist (diabetes doctor) and he said Jonathon was ok he just needed to be extra careful with his sugar levels at night.

Pretty much the scariest night of my life. I'm just glad that I was there and knew what to do to bring his sugar levels back up. And now I know what to do if this ever happens again. And somehow Molly slept through the whole thing. Definitely a God thing!!!

Life with Molly

So I definitely LOVE being a Mommy. I just didn't think that I could possibly love her sooo much! I don't want to ever put her down. She's such a good baby!

We're still working on breast feeding...she just gets fussy when I try to nurse her. The 1st few days she would cry for 30 mins to an hour before she would settle down and eat. Now she's doing a lot better. If she gets fussy at all, it's only for a few minutes. Other than that, she's doing GREAT!!! And I really like nursing...I weighed myself this past weekend and exactly a week after I gave birth, I'd lost 20 pounds!!! Whoo Hoo!!! And I only gained about 25 pounds the whole pregnancy. Not a bad deal!

That's all I have for now...time to feed baby! :)

Molly is here!!!

I know I'm a little late blogging, but our precious baby girl is here. She arrived at 3:04 Sunday morning. She was 6 pounds 6 ounces and 18 1/2 inches long and Perfect!!!

I'll attempt to remember all the details of my labor...it's a long story:

Saturday I woke up at 3:20 am having contractions. They were pretty strong and about 5 minutes apart. I waited about an hour before I woke up Jonathon (I wanted to make sure that it was for real). He jumped up and we started getting things together. We already had the hospital bag packed but we grabbed a bunch more things that we might need. We got to the hospital at about 5:00 am and I was 2 centimeters dilated. They wanted to keep me and watch me for a while to see how I was progressing. A few hours later, I was still at 2 centimeters so they told me I could go home.

I left the hospital at 9:00 am and ran home to change. I had a baby shower at 10:00 that morning. So I went to the shower (I was only about 10 minutes late) and had contractions throughout the shower. My mom and sister came up from Alexandria for the shower..which was nice. I needed my mommy! After the shower, I was still feeling contractions but they weren't as often. We ate lunch at El Jarrito and went shopping around town just to keep moving. We went to my house and decided to put the final touches on the nursery. So my mom washed, sorted, opened all the baby stuff while I sat in the chair still having contractions. She made a Walmart run to get stuff that I didn't know I needed. She's the best! Meanwhile, Jonathon is kinda going crazy doing stuff around the house to keep himself busy. We knew that baby was coming soon.

My contractions were getting stronger and closer together so we decided to go back to the hospital. So me, Jonathon, Cayce (jonathon's brother), Kayli (my lil sister), and my parents headed to the hospital. We got there about 8:45 pm. The checked me and I was 3 cm dilated.

I sat in the hospital room for about an hour. They checked me again and I was about 4 cm dilated. I felt my water breaking so we called the nurse. They decided to move me into a delivery room bc baby was for sure coming soon. They moved me into the room and I started having KILLER contractions!!! And about an hour later, they came in to check me again and I was 7 cm dilated. So they called in the epidural man bc it would take him about 45 minutes to get there. So I layed in bed and soldiered through the contractions. Then my hero came in the room and gave me the epidural. He actually couldn't get the catheter in my back, so he called in his buddy doctor who got the job done. I was feeling good after that. About 30 minutes later, doctor came in and told me I was fully dilated and it was time to start pushing. Got the drugs just in time!!!

I started pushing at about 2:10 am. My doctor was out of town that weekend so the on-call doctor delivered me. He was really great!!! I only pushed 5 or 6 times and she came out screaming with her fists clinched. She was beautiful! She came at 3:04 Sunday morning. My parents and Cayce and Kayli came in to see her and hold her for a lil bit and they went home and crashed. Jonathon and I actually got about 3 good hours of sleep after that. I woke up feeling good. My back was a bit sore from all the shots but other than that I felt good. I guess I got lucky. I jumped up at 9:00 and took a shower and started texting everybody.

Now we're just adjusting to life with a newborn. I didn't know that my hormones would be crazy and I would cry all the time. I think I cried for an hour when my mommy left me...she had to get back to work. And I just randomly bust out into tears. But we're getting a little bit of sleep at night. Molly's such a good baby. We've had a lil trouble breast feeding but she's gotten the hang of it now.

That's all I've got for now.

Nothing much going on

Well nothing new or exciting has happened since my last post. Still big and preggers. Still getting ready for baby. We did put the crib together...so if Molly decides to come early, she'll have a place to sleep. I should be going to see my doctor tomorrow...but he's out of town. Sooo I'll be going next week.

It was a sad moment for me today...I had to stop wearing my wedding ring. It won't fit on my big pregger finger anymore. Sad day!!! At least I made it this far.

Less than a month to go!!! Can't wait!!!

hmm it's getting closer...

Went to the doctor today and the nurse said, "I just want you to realize that since you're 35 weeks, you can go into labor at any time now." Just a little bit freaky to think about. But it got me thinking...I have a LOT to do before baby can come!!! Just a few things on my list:

1. Finish sewing curtains for nursery
2. Put crib together (Yah I know we should have done that a LONG time ago)
3. Pack hospital bag (Just in case)
4. Start getting stuff together at work for when I'm not there :) YAY!!!
5. I'm sure there are 50 other things that I can put on this list...but I'm gonna stop here bc I don't want to stress myself out!!!
